Nearly every family is touched by cancer. This year alone, it is estimated that almost 1.7 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer. And, there are 16 million cancer survivors in the United States.1
One person alone can’t beat cancer – it takes a team. Founded in 2005, Breakaway from Cancer® aims to increase awareness of important education and resources available to those impacted by cancer – from prevention to survivorship. The Breakaway from Cancer independent non-profit partners – Prevent Cancer Foundation, Cancer Support Community, Patient Advocate Foundation, National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship, Susan G. Komen and Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation – collectively offer a broad range of resources for people affected by cancer, complementing those provided by a patient’s team of healthcare professionals.
Participants in the video have real life cancer experiences. Andy Tao was diagnosed with leukemia in 2017 and when Debra Parson’s brother was diagnosed with cancer, she moved him to California to help care for him.
